(FILES) — File picture dated October 11, 2006 shows Qatar-based Egyptian scholar Sheikh Yussef al-Qardawi at a charity ceremony held in the Qatari capital Doha, to collect donations for an Islamic media project aimed at defending and presenting a positive image of Islam and Prophet Mohammed. The prominent Sunni Muslim cleric charged on September 18, 2008 that Shiite Muslims were “invading” Sunni societies. “We must face up to it otherwise we would have betrayed our mission,” Qardawi said.
