Altaj news – An iris flower from the south
From the embrace of the southern hills… came an iris flower with her beautiful braids. Those that knew of this flower knew she would one day be the talk of the town, and their intuition became the reality that she lived and loved. this flower left her scent wherever she went, and it was the sign of the birth of this shining star and guiding light to all the other southern Irises.
She would draw her plans and dreams in sand wishing that they would come true, and prove all the naysayers wrong … Whenever she had doubts, her faith guided her forward, assuring her that her dreams will become a reality. She would always resort to her companions for motivation; her pen and her notebooks. 
This dreamy girl wouldn’t settle for being less than a beacon, to those seeking knowledge in her peaceful village. She was always at the top of her class and distinguished herself even further in her high school years. Thus, the first steps of her dreams began to take shape, and after four exhausting years, she got a degree in physics … You see long roads are often exhausting …  but she would always remind herself that it is ok to be exhausted and that all great people had to suffer and work hard.
Guided by her goals she forged ahead in the pursuit of knowledge… until she got a Higher Diploma in Information and Communication Technology, followed by a master's degree in Curriculum and Science Education, and finally culminating in a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teaching. Goals are what give a higher meaning to a person’s life…
The world opened its arms to this iris… and she began the journey by reforming her peaceful hometown of (That Ras). Under her leadership, she turned the school in her hometown into a shining example of renowned excellence across the entire kingdom.
But she did not stop there, she did everything in her power to and dedicated her life to the service of her people, even at the expense of herself … She kept working hard to further her skills and knowledge towards the top, taking many courses such as an ICDL course, Intel course, Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) course, Intel advanced course, support teacher course, science networks course, leadership course in management course, reading and arithmetic course and initiative, a training workshop on the art of reading aloud for children with the (We Love Reading initiative), the police friends course, a multilateral evaluator course, a professional development course, and many others.
And because her yearning for knowledge is never-ending… our heroine continued her hard work until she received the recognition she deserved, when she was awarded the Queen Rania Distinguished Teacher Award in 2008, the Queen Rania Distinguished Principal Award in 2017, as well as 16 school effectiveness indicators which were unprecedented in the Kingdom.
Her blessed hard-working hard gave her a special place of love in the hearts of her people.. a love that she rewarded with many works of charity, that we hope Allah will handsomely reward her for. She headed the advisory board for the young woman of (that ras), volunteered in Shukira Association for Social Development, continued her support for women as a member of many women committees, she was a member that ras health committee, the head of suggestion and screening committee multiple times. She volunteered to teach physics to the students in the neighborhood, and she was also a social activist and researcher in many fields of education.
She treated children at her school as if they were her own, and sowed the seeds of good ethics, excellence, hard work, and creativity in them; which yielded a harvest of success and excellence that made her and her children stand out. This positive learning environment yielded eighteen of her students being accepted to study medicine between 2018 and 2021. The school won first place in many national competitions for the first time in its history, such as Quran and Hadith, story writing, journalistic investigation, scientific research, sports like chess, football, basketball, painting, and song. 
Her message in life is one of unwavering support for education; thus she helped 13 teachers in participating in Queen Rania Distinguished Teacher Awards over 2 years. She created a network of individuals that support and share experiences inside the school environment, where everyone works as a team to teach and learn from one another, to create a successful and ethical generation.
This iris always held out her hand to help others, and through the initiatives she dedicated to the service of others, she was able to able to gain the affection of the men, women, and children of society. In the community of that ras in Karak Governorate, many teachers and women of the local community, answered her call to help provide to the students that are not financially capable, which allowed them to continue their remote learning and testing through the “أمي ومدرستي معًا.. يدًا بيد لصنع مستقبلي” initiative that she launched.
She did not stop there; and launched many other initiatives. She was able to provide the funding to get internet cards for 40 students, using the profits from selling food made at the school for cheap prices, amazingly, this initiative exceeded the original goal, and provided winter clothing for several struggling families. This was the result of her determination and the help she received from local women, but should we stop talking about the rest of the initiatives?
No, we will once more shed light on a remote training initiative for computer literacy, directed to mothers facing difficulties in participating with their children in remote learning. This initiative was a story of resounding success, that reached many Arab TV channels.
She is Dr. Etimad Jamil Al-Jaafrah, a prominent Jordanian figure in science and education, an alarm that sounds when society stops giving and a guiding light to those who are lost. This iris flower is as dependable as her name suggests, for there is no better person to turn to in times of hardship. Her leadership and vision in education are unrivaled, the many selfless endeavors we mentioned are but a drop in the bucket, and her unwavering efforts to help others will forever change the lives of all she meets.
